LEADERSHIP PROFILE

Mr. Guthrie leads Synergia’s major counterparty contractual engagements, as well as power production revenue-generating agreements. He brings 24 years of international energy and power industry experience spanning deal structuring, asset management, engineering, and commercial contract negotiation across five continents.

Prior to joining Synergia, Jarred served as Chief Project Officer at Equatic, where he advanced ocean-based carbon removal facilities from concept to FEED phase and built commercial relationships with Microsoft, Google, Boeing, and British Airways. This work was recognized with an Earthshot Prize finalist nod from HRH Prince William.

He spent the previous 17 years at Shell, rising to Vice President of Shell New Energies US with P&L accountability for a $1.1 billion renewable energy business. He also led Shell’s global hydrogen projects and engineering and maintenance commercial strategy.

Jarred holds multiple patents in industrial and energy technology and is a published technical author, having written Shell’s Commercial Cost Leadership and Global Maintenance Execution manuals, as well as other industry-related publications.

A West Point graduate with a B.S. in Industrial Systems Engineering and former U.S. Army Captain, Jarred earned two Bronze Stars for Valor during his military service. He is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, holds the EUR ING chartered engineer designation, and has served on several boards and industry committees throughout his career.
